Welcome to Up Until Fulbright: A Fulbright Podcast!

 

This is where we get to know Fulbrighters…before their Fulbright programs. 

​

There are many Fulbright magazines, alumni sites, and social media accounts that dive deep into research topics, academic achievement, and the few years of their Fulbright experience. Other resources discuss the process of applying for Fulbright or navigating life during Fulbright. However, this will be the only Fulbright resource that emphasizes the time before the scholarship. 

​

Through storytelling and conversation, we intend to learn about their life growing up, their family, their country, dreams as a child, and impactful moments on their journey to the Fulbright Scholarship. Through this story, we can peek into the differences between us, but also the stark similarities of our lives. 

 

Fulbrighters come from a wide variety of backgrounds, yet most organizations only spotlight their Fulbright years, skipping all their formative experiences before they had even heard of the Fulbright Scholarship. 

 

We don’t want to skip those experiences. We want to hear about them. 

 

The aim of the project is to fill the gap in the way Fulbrighters are recognized. Current Alumni resources highlight the academic accomplishments of the scholars, but rarely feature the hard work, adversity, and personal journeys to becoming a scholar.
